Individual arrival (flight optional) to Tenerife. This should be done by 17:00 at the latest in order to be able to continue your journey on the same day. After your arrival at the airport Reina Sofia in Tenerife South, the individual bus or cab transfer to the port of Los Cristianos, about 15 km away. From there ferry crossing with Fred Olson Ferry to San Sebastián on the northeast coast of La Gomera (duration approx. 45 minutes). The Valle Gran Ray can be easily reached by cab or by bus (both optional). The driving time is about 70 minutes. We will gladly organize the transfer for you in advance. You will get a first impression of the beauty of the island. After the reception in town you will be accompanied to your accommodation. 7 nights in the chosen apartment complex Bajio Condesa or Villa Alpina.
Today your day starts with a trip out to sea. With a small, typical Canarian fishing boat and a maximum of 10 people per trip you will be able to watch the whales and dolphins. The respectful whale watching has top priority. During the 3 to 4 hours tour the marine biologist will give you more knowledge and with the underwater microphone you will listen to the dolphins at the bottom. In the afternoon you can choose to go snorkeling with the marine biologist at the harbor and explore the underwater world.
Very early you will go out to sea in complete darkness for the unforgettable sight of the sunrise, watching the dolphins and whales. The months of March to May are when the most dolphin sightings occur. The probability of sighting during these months is 90%. The tour lasts about 3 to 4 hours. In the evening you can participate in another lecture about “The marine ecosystem with focus on the Canary Islands”.
Another day on the sea to meet dolphins and whales. Each tour is new and unique in itself. Take a little swim break and enjoy your La GomeraIntensive trip. Tour duration approx. 3 – 4 hours. In the evening you will learn something about “The coastal zones of the Canary Islands” in the lecture held by the marine biologist.
Until the afternoon you have free time. In the afternoon, the marine biologist will guide you through the rocky mudflats at low tide and explain this extensive ecosystem in an exciting way.
Today you can again spend the day as you wish until the afternoon. In the afternoon you will take your last tour with the marine biologist, who will inform you about the special features of the island. With a little luck you will see an osprey or its nest.
In the morning return to San Sebastian on your own to take the ferry back to Tenerife to the port of Los Christianos. From there on your own to the airport Tenerife South.
